Description
In this IPD project, Fab Structures acted as a superstructure consultant and the scope of work included in this 6 storey build was manufacturing the light weight frame panels inlcuding windows and siding. Fab Structures also did the installation of the structure of the building (mass timber CLT and LWF panels). Assembly and Loftin’s 7 Vanauley project is a 6 storey, 31 unit, 18,500 square foot affordable housing project in the Alexandra Park neighbourhood of Toronto. The team includes Civil-Go, Thornton Thomasetti, HGC, EQ, Quinn Landscape Design and Fab Structures. The development will serve and support at-risk youth, complement the existing youth-oriented services provided on the site, and fill a critical need for housing. The new building will be used for youth outreach, employment training, housing assistance, transitional housing and social enterprise. Using a Rent-Geared-to-Income model, no tenant will be required to allocatemore than 30% of their income to housing.
