In this IPD project, Fab Structures acted as a superstructure consultant on this project and the scope of work included in this 6 storey build was manufacturing the light weight frame panels and the installation of the structure of the building (mass timber / pre-cast and LWF panels). A 24-unit healing lodge for Indigenous women. This project is a collaboration between Assembly and Loftin, with Fab Structures, Civil-Go Engineers, Thornton Thomasetti, and EQ. In keeping with Indigenous teachings about respect for the Land, Assembly was selected to build an environmentally conscious green building that performs 55% better than the applicable energy code. The six-storey build will be a unique model combining wrap-around supports and transitional housing for formerly incarcerated Indigenous women under one roof.
